Alumnae

The Alumnae Association ‘Providonna.’

• The Alumnae Association, had begun functioning in the 1950’s.
• It was revived during the Golden Jubilee Year.
• The outgoing final year students become members of the Association.
• This 2 year membership can then be extended as a 5 year membership, Life membership or Patron membership.
• The Association meets on the 15th of August every year.
• The executive committee, consists of 10 elected members.
• The General Body meets regularly to plan and implement various programme and activities meant to strengthen the link between the alumnae and their alma mater.

'Highlights of the year 2009-2010'

1. Annual get together on August 15th , with a cultural programme by the Alumnae
2. Talk on 'Women Insecurity' by Advocate Manjeri Sunder Raj
3. Intercollegiate Quiz programmes COnducted by Mr Snehaj
4. Medical camp for the Ist semsester students under the leadership of Dr Ajitha PN (Alumna)
5. The association bid farewell to the retiring Alumnae teaching faculty - Dr M.C. Vyjaynadi, Head Dept of Zoology and Mrs Umadevi T, Head, Dept of Botany.

Highlights of the Alumnae UAE chapter Meet 2010

1. The Providence College Reunion Meet-2010 UAE chapter was held on April 23rd with a huge success .
2. The attendees tagged it as the best reunion event that Dubai has seen so far.
3. The function was held at the Arabian Courtyard ( 11:30-3:30 ) ; they had
1) A registration & Cash Counter
2) Small Nametags
3) Organizer Tags

4. The organizers who worked behind this get together are Lamiya Nabeel , Najlah Faiz , Padma Priya, Asra Suneer, Arthika, Jayalakshmi, Shimna ,Reshna & myself Neema
5. Najlah was the MC - the kids too performed

• Providonna, the alumnae association turned 10 this year.
• 12 scholarships were given by the association to deserving students
• On 26-11-2011, the association felicitated the new Mayor of Kozhikode Corporation, Prof.A.K.Premajam, who is an alumna.
• On the same day, the association organised a seminar on Cyber-Crime. The resource person was Cyber-Criminlogist Dhanya Menon
• The Associations felicitated International Badminton player and Commonwealth Medallist Aparna Balan, who is an alumna.
• Former students Poornima Mohanachandran, Capt.Sajitha Nair, Lishna N.C. and Mary Cherian addressed the students on different occasions
